Partnership

Hira Bhana are passionate about potatoes… they are after all, of one of NZ’s favourite veggies.

As they considered ways to highlight the health benefits, versatility and wider consumption of potatoes, two of the Bhana brothers happened to cross paths with a couple of Blues stars while dining at Sky City one night. When the players revealed that potatoes were their go-to lunchbefore every game, the idea clicked — and sponsorship discussions with the Auckland Rugby Union were soon underway.Auckland RugbyIn 2013, the Bhana’s became proud sponsors of the Auckland ITM Cup team, a partnership that continued through to 2024. They also signed on as  major sponsors of the Blues Super Rugby Team, backing them from 2013 to 2019. Over this period, their brand was visible on signage at Eden Park, in match programmes, and on players' uniforms.  The Blues logo was added to their fleet of delivery trucks - a familiar sight on Auckland's motoways- and more than four tonnes of potatoes were given away to rugby fans.

Although sponsorship has now come to and end, they remain grateful for the chance to showcase fresh produce on one of New Zealands biggest sporting stages.  They hope their experience inspires other growers to promotoe healthy, local food - for the good of the industry and the wellbeing of New Zealanders everywhere, rugby fans or not. Blues Logo

And on a smaller scale

Also for a number or years now Hira Bhana have been supporters of the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust. The continued support has allowed the trustto provide 2 full time rescue helicopters forthe Auckland region.
